And even still, there are some seriously hard rocking tunes on this that would NEVER be heard on any Kelly Clarkson disc.

I think too many critics are dismissing her as going the bubblegum pop route when in fact if you listen closely to the album there’s startling depth to the music — well, aside from the largely been-there-done-that lyrics. At least the voice is great to listen to and the guitar work is smart and concise. And hey, if you really want the guitar wankery, there’s always Highly Strung featuring Steve Vai toward the end of the disc!
