SAXON and ARMORED SAINT to Replace DC COOPER at ProgPower USA Kickoff Event

D.C. Cooper has announced that he will no longer be appearing at this year’s ProgPower USA Kickoff Event. He has released the following statement:

“It is with great disappointment and sadness the we are announcing the cancellation of the DC Cooper solo performance at the 2015 Atlanta ProgPower USA Kick-Off Party on Sept. 10th. Due to circumstances beyond his control, or anyone else’s control, DC Cooper had to make this tough decision to withdraw from the Kick-Off Concert. Hopefully, we will be able to elaborate more on the situation, but at this time, this is all the information we can release.” The artist himself added, “I want to thank everyone involved for their professionalism and enthusiasm that helped bring this together up to this point. Nathan Block and his festival team, Dave Watson, Kenny Porter Julian Nieser, and many others! Thank you, and my sincere apologies! Especially my warmest thanks to the fans and friends who were to attend. Your support is never-ending and much appreciated!”

Cooper will be replaced by not one but two bands, none other than British heavy metal legends Saxon and their recent tourmates Armored Saint. Event promoter Nathan Block had this to say:

“I would like to thank everyone so far who has responded so positively to the new headliners. I want to make one thing crystal clear – I have absolutely no ill-will whatsoever towards DC and his decision to withdraw from the show. DC was an absolute total pro all the way and it was a pleasure to work with him. I am hopeful that at some point in time in the near future, I can work with him again. He is an amazing artist – both on-stage and off.
Moving right along …
If you have not heard the news, due to all of the stars and the planets being in complete alignment, I have managed to add not one but two new headliners to the Kick-Off Show — the mighty Saxon and returning heroes Armored Saint. As you can imagine, replacing one headliner with two was not exactly cheap — but due to the circumstances, I have decided NOT to raise the price of the show. Tickets will remain at the prices originally advertised. In my humble opinion, this show has now become the bargain of the century – 4 amazing bands for $50. If you haven’t bought your tickets now, I would highly encourage you to do so.
Also, I am not going to cut Almah’s or Dragonland’s set times. So we are going to have to start a bit early.
Doors will now open at 5:00pm
10:30p – 12:00a
If ARMORED SAINT wants to play longer, we’ll figure something out. Right now, these are the times I got from their manager.
I hope to see you at this amazing show.
