CETI: Snakes Of Eden Album Cover Artwork Revealed

CETI – the Polish hard rock/heavy metal act – will release its new studio album Snakes Of Eden in early October. The recording process was finished in June. Ahead of the album release, the cover artwork is revealed. It was created by an acclaimed Polish artist Piotr Szafraniec, who has already worked with the group designing the album cover of their 2014 release Brutus Syndrome.

“It’s an amazing coincidence that our paths have crossed”, said CETI’s leader and the legend of Polish heavy metal scene Grzegorz Kupczyk, referring to the band’s collaboration with Szafraniec. “He’s a real visionary, open-minded and independent artistically, which altogether is similar to our ethics of self-confidence and artistic independence. Similarly to our previous collaboration [on Brutus Syndrome album artwork] Piotr was given a free hand as I wanted to grant him freedom of artistic expression. The effect is dynamite! I was stunned the first time he showed me the cover art design. All he received from me this time around was the album title – no lyrics attached – but somehow he’s done what I could only dream of. The only suggestion I’ve made was the inclusion of the serpent’s head on the album cover, a reference to the Bible. A tear in the reptile’s eye is a symbol of its sudden grasping of what it’s done by tempting Adam and Eve… maybe even a regret of sorts, as he made a huge mistake giving a human being access to knowledge and the naively perceived freedom of choice. After all, knowledge is something wonderful but also painful, it’s a benchmark of our humanity – but also, our curse.”

Ahead of the first single release, on the 14th of July, CETI performed on the annual Woodstock Festival – the biggest open air festival in the Mid-Eastern part of Europe – in Kostrzyn, Poland.
