Under ominous skies, with storm clouds threatening, Vans Warped Tour kicked off its 22nd year as the gates were opened to concert goers sharply at 12:30 pm. With the weather appearing to be a factor in the day’s festivities, a possible downpour of rain and thunderstorms seemed a sure thing, the power of the music seemed to lull mother nature to rest, as quickly the clouds dissipated and the sun rays reached down from the heavens.
This year’s edition of Vans featured Beartooth, Dance Gavin Dance, I Prevail, GWAR, and New Years Day. With seven active stages; Journeys Left Foot, Journey’s Right Foot, Mutant North, Mutant South, Skullcandy and Full Sails University, fans were treated to a multitude of genres of Rock from Alternative-Rock, Punk, Modern Metal, and Thrash. Group’s on tour came from as far away as Australia (Hands Like Houses), Greece (Barb Wire Dolls), Scotland (Alestorm) and Britain (Sonic Boom Six).
