2012 see’s the Z Rock festival in a new home and one that will be our stable venue for the foreseeable future. The Robin 2 in Bilston near Wolverhampton is clean, has in house food ranging from Burger and chip, Pizza etc etc and a secure area to catch some fresh air between bands. We moved to this fine venue as we believe it will mean virtually no one will need to leave the venue and miss any act, which has been a problem in the past thus making the 2 day event more enjoyable for you the music fans. JEFF LOOMIS To Release New Album “Plains of Oblivion” in April 2012; Reveals Track Listing and Album Artwork

After releasing a handful of updates and teasers, JEFF LOOMIS fans have been dying to know when they can expect the ex-Nevermore guitar prodigy’s forthcoming album. It is with much excitement that JEFF LOOMIS finally reveals the details of his highly anticipated sophomore effort entitled Plains of Oblivion. The new album will be released on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe via Century Media Records. The ten track effort will be produced by Aaron Smith (7 Horns 7 Eyes) and is some of JEFF LOOMIS’ best work yet. The full track listing and artwork for Plains of Oblivion can be seen below. JEFF LOOMIS teamed up with Colin Marks of Rain Song Design ( www.rain-song.co.uk) to create the intriguing artwork. RIOT – ‘The Darkness That All Men Must Face…’
It was with great sadness that we had to announce that Mark Reale, the founder of US metal legends RIOT, passed away last week, having lost his battle with Crohn’s disease. He was just 56 years old. Mark’s band mates have been devastated by his death.
Mike Flyntz on his personal loss: “I would like to thank everyone for the support and love regarding the passing of my dear friend Mark Reale. I have had the honor to stand next to him on the stage and in the studio for over 22 years. Mark gave me the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of recording and writing records, and also touring in support of those records.
I was a fan first, getting his autograph after a RIOT show at L’Amours when I was in college. Mark was a shy man who didn’t talk much unless he was being interviewed or on the phone. Lord knows he could talk on the phone. Mark also loved to laugh. One part of our special relationship was that we could laugh until we were crying, and he would be lying on the floor yelling “please stop” and after 5 minutes of silence all I had to do was look at him and it would start all over. I will forever cherish those moments. Read more

HolyHell confirmed for Gods Of Metal Italy

HolyHell will celebrate their long awaited return to Europe with a performance at the 15th anniversary edition of Gods Of Metal Italy. This will be the band’s first appearance in Italy, and their first European performance with drummer John Macaluso.
The band is currently in the studio, working on their new album, scheduled for release this summer. “We can’t wait to return to Europe. It is like a second home to us and our fans are simply incredible.” says Maria Breon. Read more
