Chris A is a writer, photographer, guitar player, businessman and retired USAF Security Police Master Sergeant. Chris served 20 years in the USAF on assignments that took him from the corn fields of Indiana to the halls of the Pentagon.

Allen, Mark

Biography

Mark Allen has a job as a Federal Correctional Officer in order to pay his ridiculously oversized mortgage, but his real passion, the thing that gets his juices flowing like a ravenous Rottweiler eyeing a raw rib-eye, is creative writing. Action novels, horror screenplays, avant garde short stories, hardboiled novellas, romantic poetry…he’s done them all, some published, some not. Biography

Jonna “Jaye” Ambur comes from Connecticut and was raised in a home that was always surrounded by music and creativity. Her mother, a music major; father, a photographer. Her genes were predisposed to Live Concert Photography. Since she was 15 years old her genre of choice has been rock, metal and hardcore and continues to be where she finds her strength.

In the last 6 years, Jonna has been a published model, acted in an independent horror film, been partnered in a local photography studio, started her own photography portfolio and pushed forward to find out what she wanted to be when she grew up. Read more

Barbieri, Alex

Biography

Ever since Alex’s older sister played him an Ozzy Osbourne tape for the first time at age 12, he has been hooked on hard rock and heavy metal. Alex has been the singer/frontman of numerous bands. He is the founding member of Streets, and his lead vocals are featured on the critically-acclaimed Tango Down album, Damage Control. Alex has performed live at Rocklahoma, Dakota Rock Fest, and opened for many of his hard rock heroes, including Dokken, L.A. Guns, House of Lords, Tyketto, Firehouse, Trixter and Stephen Pearcy of RATT. Alex is a copywriter by trade, and a proud contributor to Hardrock Haven. I’ve been truly blessed and fortunate enough to get involved in the media and music industry at a very young age. So, how did I “roll” into the magic world of rock? It all started with rock’s mighty forces: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Joan Jett, who later became one of my all-time favorite female singers. I then progressed to Zeppelin, Slade, Jimi Hendrix, Ted Nugent, Uriah Heep, Whitesnake, Dream Theater, Van Halen, Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses. “My story begins in the womb way back in the early ’60s and culminates to today where drumming is still one of the most important factors of my existence”

Prior to becoming a father in 1997 I lived & breathed drums! From elementary through high school it was rare for me not to have a pair of sticks handy. I started with the school orchestra in 3rd grade and graduated high school as part of a state champion drum line. Following high school I became a private drum instructor and marching band drum line instructor as well as marching with both a DCA & DCI drum corps. Hello music lovers of the world! I grew up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and have had music and writing pumped through my veins since I’ve been able to walk. I grew up in a house that was smothered by Kiss, The Ramones, and Three Dog Night, who all still maintain their spots as my favorite bands of all time. “I’m Anabel Dflux, a self-taught photographer in California. Photography is my passion, a dream I turned into a reality. In 2009 I started my own photographic service on a whim and a wish, and I now own Deliquesce-Flux Photography.

Born and raised in the music capital of the world, Los Angeles, California, Cynthia Jo has always had a vision and passion for music, especially rock and roll. At the young age of twelve, she began promoting local bands and became intrigued and very passionate in describing them. Anything from metal to pop rock to hardcore she wanted to be the first to describe them to anyone she came across. With that passion, she entered a writing contest at her high school. In my everyday life, I work in a hospital in order to keep our two teenage daughters in makeup and hairspray as well as supply our small zoo of two Rottweilers and four cats with plenty of toys! My husband and I also are very involved in our local girls’ softball league; my hubby coaches, and I am the photographer for the league.

Alissa Ordabai is a freelance music journalist living in working in London, UK. She prepared for her career by studying art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and later doing a post-graduate course in music and sound technology at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, also known as Paul McCartney’s Fame School.

Having abandoned her one-time intention of becoming a copyright lawyer (despite graduating with a law degree from the University of London in 2006), she is now a full-time journalist. She travels extensively, one day interviewing an American band in New York City, the next day flying to Moscow for a rock magazine’s staff meeting, and the next day returning to her hometown of London to catch an up-and-coming underground band at a local venue. Steve Patrick lives and breathes music. His parents got him started with their Alice Cooper and Uriah Heep records, but Steve’s interest in rock music truly took off after seeing his first concert: AC/DC. First of all I have to start off by saying I have a strong passion for 80′s music. You just can’t beat the melody, lyrics, and overall vibe that transpired from one of the most exciting genres in music. I started out in the music business as a singer-songwriter and pop-rock guitarist. I love performing and being onstage. My love of music inspired me to start writing concert reviews.
