Their latest EP, Recorrupted<\/em>, has only five tracks \u2014 one which is an original song, one Pantera cover, and two remixes. <\/p>\n

Beginning with the only original song, \u201cSection 8\u201d the album establishes a very generic sound of under-toned, uncreative breakdowns. The Pantera cover of \u201cStrength Beyond Strength\u201d probably has Dimebag Darrell rolling over in his grave. The cover is simply boring. There is no creativity, perhaps one of the worst Pantera covers ever recorded. <\/p>\n

Probably the two remixed tracks, \u201cBreeding Violence\u201d and \u201cThis is Exile\u201d are more than adequate, but that depends on who is listening to them. Those two tracks are groovy and hard-hitting and will probably be in good use for a video game or something. Whitechapel fans will probably love \u201cEnd of Flesh.\u201d The track is calm and haunting; a twist to the EP since it\u2019s nothing close to deathcore overall. <\/p>\n

Bottom line, Whitechapel\u2019s Recorrupted<\/em> does deserve credit for those two remixed tracks \u2014 however, deathcore fans don\u2019t care about remixed tracks. This EP just opens the doors for more hatred toward the endless \u201cchug-chug-chug\u201d that deathcore bands love. <\/p>\n
