\"MissYear after year, it\u2019s getting clearer and clearer it must be something in the air in Scandinavia (or maybe it\u2019s the water that is to blame?). Just because it\u2019s the residents of this cold peninsula who tend to deliver the most melodic and catchy\u2026 and, funnily enough, the hottest releases in category of AOR\/melodic rock. But enough of socio-geographic gas for now, as it\u2019s only music that should do the talking. And in the case of Miss Behaviour, the Swedish melodic rock act releasing their third album Double Agent<\/em> in August via AOR Heaven, it really speaks volumes. <\/p>\n

Miss Behaviour simply seem to tick all the boxes if it comes to the keyboard-laden pomp rock sound \u2013 catchy if not infectious, introduced in the first track \u201cOn With The Show\u201d. \u201cDouble Agent\u201d follows, the one to charm the listener with its killer hook and so-totally-\u201880s, powerful synthesizers. Equally charming, yet of slightly different nature is a mid-tempo \u201cCold Response.\u201d It\u2019s saccharine soft rock at its best \u2013 maybe a bit too poppy for a die-hard metalhead, but certainly enjoyable, something in vein of Bon Jovi\u2019s \u201cWithout Love\u201d of their Slippery When Wet album. Opened with a powerful group chant, \u201cMagical Feeling\u201d certainly has some Def Leppard-esque vibe to it \u2013 or, because of slightly more modern sound, is close to Leppard-infused style of the likes of Loud Lion or Grand Design. <\/p>\n

Next an obligatory acoustic ballad comes in all its somberness and is titled \u201cCorporation Arms\u201d. Again, you may say every Warrant must have had its \u201cHeaven,\u201d but this conclusion will be absolutely out of spite anyway \u2013 the ballad\u2019s absolutely perfect and, just for once, not a sugary love-and-heartbreak kind of thing. Speaking of the four letter word which doesn\u2019t start with \u201cf\u201d \u2013 here comes \u201cLove Reflector,\u201d another keyboard-laden, hooky piece which should leave every \u201880s rock aficionado absolutely satisfied. <\/p>\n

\u201cEdge Of The World\u201d is the contemporary \u201cwall of sound\u201d AOR style to the utmost \u2013 vocal harmonies and spacious, dynamic keyboard sounds dueling with a portion of guitar wizardry, all mixed to the powerful, anthemic effect. \u201cDon\u2019t Let It End\u201d and \u201cMidnight Runner\u201d has the band exploring the territories of sugary melodic rock in vein of contemporary bands 91 Suite or Houston. Both tracks could fit into Johnny Lima\u2019s catalog as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cause Of Liberty\u201d gets a bit feistier and powerful; in spite of its length, this epic song laden with serious keyboard wizardry literally storms through the entire eight minutes of it. The album closes with a killer modern AOR piece \u201cDancing With Danger\u201d and a monumental, dramatic ballad \u201cSilver Rain\u201d \u2013 the latter enriched with absolutely recherch\u00e9 guitar work in the best tradition. <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not familiar with Miss Behaviour\u2019s two previous albums Heart Of Midwinter<\/em> and Last Woman Standing<\/em>, now it takes to check out only the opening \u201cOn With The Show\u201d to find out if the group suits your taste or not. If your shelves are sagging with the CD’s of W.E.T, Brother Firetribe or Work Of Art \u2013 and vinyls of Europe, Journey and Def Leppard are these you treasure the most in your collection \u2013 you\u2019ll love Double Agent<\/em> from the start. Perhaps not flawless, but a solid one \u2013 with certain highlights, perfected vocal harmonies and instrumental showcases along the way \u2013 the album is a must-have addition to the collection of every AOR fan. Much recommended.<\/p>\n
