Tara Lynch kicks down all the barriers, with an album filled with guitar riffs that are sure to get any guitarist or air-guitarist excited.

Tara Lynch (aka “Gui-Tara”) is a self-taught guitarist, a composer, vocalist, and songwriter, whose debut album Evil Enough was released on Friday the 13th. She drops the mic and takes no prisoners with an all-star line up behind her. With a Melodic Metal approach, the album features four instrumental tracks that are driving enough to not feel entirely out of place on the album.

“Evil Enough,” starting off with a giggle and leads in with a pounding guitar riff. Mark Boals takes lead vocals on this track with Tara asking the question in the chorus, “Am I Evil Enough?” Answering in kind, saying “Yes, I’m Evil Enough.” It’s a rousing start to the album.

The first single off the album “Antidote,” starts off with Vinny Appice on the drums and Phil Soussan on bass leading directly into Tara’s guitar. When her vocals kick in, it’s a slower start, but, drives forward once you get to the chorus.

The first instrumental track “Exit The Warrior,” a hard-hitting and fast-paced song, it’s heavy enough with Tara’s guitar riff’s leaving you stunned. It fits in nicely on the album and gives an excellent study as to what the album is really about. Tara and her guitar.
“Kringeworthy,” is a highly infectious tune and melodic in every way. The chorus of “Kringeworthy, Kringeworthy,” will have you singing along with Tara. The subject matter is dark, of a man who has lost his way, but the delivery leaves you smiling all the way.

“Banished From My Kingdom,” is a song that’s clearly about betrayal from a friend, you can feel Tara’s anger at this person, with the line, “A ‘sisterhood’ you failed to protect,” and “You fool no one, you’re a disgrace.” The message she’s sending here is clear, she wants nothing more to do with this person.

“Gui-Tara Rises,” the second instrumental track that shows the real range of Tara. That is just long enough with enough of a catchy riff that doesn’t let go.

“Unbreakable,” Tara states that she is unbreakable and the animosity of the person this song was directed was, is unwarranted. They just lack the nerve to try.

“Enigmatic,” another instrumental track. Tony Macalpine’s keyboard solo is a beautiful listen. The entire track is wonderful, albeit a bit long.

The second single from the album, “Trustless,” sees Tara Lynch give up vocal duties completely to Mark Boals again. Who tells a story of a man who’s done a woman wrong, and how much of a fool he is to let her go.

The last track, “Feckless Lock,” is the final instrumental piece and the closing chapter to the book of Evil Enough.

Tara Lynch is a woman who’s been on the scene for a while, and this debut album delivers a story of hardship and incredible emotional journey. You can tell the hard work that went into the album from the very beginning until the very end.

It’s a real pleasure getting to hear her work come together, and time will only tell if Tara Lynch has what it takes to go even further.
Along with the album, Tara Lynch plans to tour in 2018. Check her out in a town near you when dates become available.

Genre: Metal, Melodic Metal

Band:
Vocals – Tara Lynch
Vocals – Mark Boals
Keyboards – Tony MacAlpine
Bass – Phil Soussan
Bass – Björn Englen
Drums – Vinny Appice
Drums – Glen Sobel
Synthesizers, Background Vocals – Brent Woods

Track Listing:
1.
