Amyr Abadawn new chapter becomes the next chapter with the release of The Next Chapter<\/em> on Shredguy Records.<\/p>\n

This time around gluttonous fans get what seemed to have taken a back seat on his previous endeavor and that is lots more guitar. The twelve-track affair features a slew of guests, and continues Abadawn’s musical explorations combining a multitude of genres.<\/p>\n

Lot’s of atmospheric arrangements are complemented by varied vocal stylings from the guttural to elegant feminine melodies. The album offers up one instrumental song, “Rasuk,” where Abadawn is joined guitarist  Xiluman Satria.<\/p>\n

The album paints a dark landscape. Songs like “I’ll Be There For You,” “Fire In The Sky,” “Garden of Eden” and “I’m Not Angel,” offer listeners respite from the vocal onslaught prevalent throughout the majority of the album. “Garden of Eden” features Rossana Cavallotto, her operatic voice is quite the counter punch to the heavy, foreboding music that assails the listener.<\/p>\n

The album is chalk full of shred-guitar. Abadawn’s music continues to be dark, atmospheric, and moody. Unfortunately, after several spins no specific tracks melody sticks in your brain, drawing one back for another listen. The varied  vocalist trend away from a cohesive glue holding it all together. Fans will either love the guttural vocals or trend towards the audible male and female arrangements.<\/p>\n
