Biography —
Born and based in Poland, I discovered Rock music as early as at the age of 9. My early musical discoveries were those of the ‘80s Hard Rock scene, a fact which had a considerable influence over my future journalistic work.
My lifelong passion for music and writing led me to my contributions to the Polish webzines HardRock.Com.Pl (as a reviewer, 2009) and Hard Rock Service (as a reviewer and interviewer from 2009 to 2014). I took over the responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief and Social Media Manager of Hard Rock Service in early 2015 and ran the site until 2016.
I’ve been contributing to Hardrock Haven from late 2011 to date, first as a Columnist/Staff Writer, than a Sr. Columnist (since 2014), an Editor and a Social Media Manager (since 2021). Apart from that, in early 2011 I started to contribute to Fireworks Magazine (UK) and Rocktopia (UK). Between 2014 and 2015, my essays were featured in three music biographies by the British author Neil Daniels. In 2016 and 2020, I prepared and guest co-hosted two special features in The Michael Spiggos Melodic Rock Show (on Rock Radio and Wacken Radio, respectively). Moreover, between 2017 and 2020, I’ve been an active music blogger and interviewer under the moniker of Rock Speculo Interviews.
My other areas of interest are the American and British culture, gender studies and the sociology of popular music, all reflected in my university studies. I hold a Master’s degree in English but specialized in Culture Studies during the course of my studies (my Bachelor of Arts thesis was on Madonna’s representation of femininity in postmodernism and my Master of Arts thesis – on authenticity and adaptation in Southern Rock). Still, there’s nothing I love more than the infamous “dancing about architecture” – every minute of it!
