Being home to Napalm Events, a division of Napalm Records, one could only wonder how Graz did survive without a proper Metal festival for so long.
Luckily, things have changed! Metal On The Hill will be hosting its third edition on August 17th and 18th 2018 at the stunning location of Schlossberg(castle hill, a mountain right in the heart of the city. The vantage point overlooking Medieval rooftops of the old town with the remains of the castle dating back to the 10th century will welcome for the two days metalheads from far and near.
After only two years in action, the festival has featured already plenty of names needing no explanation to any metal fan: Blind Guardian, Paradise Lost, Alestorm, Arch Enemy, Satyricon, Lacuna Coil and many others.
The third edition of Metal On The Hill will host Dutch Symphonic Metal band Epica, Swiss Folk metallers Eluveitie, German Thrash powerhouse Sodom, Anglo-Swiss Power Metal five-piece Gloryhammer and plenty more.
Two warm-up shows before the festival will be held at Dom Im Berg- a venue in the tunnel complex below the Schlossberg hill.
