In 2003 it was supposed to be a one-off event to celebrate 20 year anniversary of Rock Hard Magazine, but ended up being voted by fans as the best Metal open- air in Germany and has grown into a known, highly anticipated festival featuring a long list of international artists of different genres of metal. Since then Rock Hard Festival has been an annual event held at Amphitheatre Gelsenkirchen in the Ruhr area in Germany. In the previous years, the festival has hosted names like Behemoth, Doro, Iced Earth, King Diamond, Kreator, Overkill, Saxon, Sepultura, Sodom, Testament, and many others.
Rock Hard Festival 2019 edition will take place on June 7-9 and Rock Hard team as every year have put together a very exciting program for us. There will be something to please everyone’s taste.
Part of Thrash Metal’s “Big Four” next to Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer, East Coast metallers Anthrax will be headlining one of the days at Rock Hard Festival this year.
The latest additions to festival’s 2019 line-up are Death Metal godfathers Possessed, German heavy rockers Tyler Leads, Maryland Heavy Metal trio The Obsessed, local Cologne Death Metal band Chapel Of Disease and German thrashers Vulture.
What an amazing bill and we cannot wait to find out the last two names that will be topping up this list.
