The Scene, Independence, MO, June 12, 2021
Ron Keel is the consumate performer, entertainer and show man. On June 12, he brought his band to the Kansas City metro area to rock a bit, and roll a bit with his fans, alongside Jack Russell’s Great White.
Making his debut at The Scene, a bar located in Independence, Missouri, Ron and his crew, came to Rock! Greeting fans before the show, Keel took the time to talk with, take pictures with, and overall embrace his fans and supporters.
The Ron Keel Band performs the music of Keel and their own brand of rock, hitting the audience with original music, that blends the best of Rock, Country and Metal. For those who have experienced a real Rock ‘n’ Roll show, your standards are high … Ron Keel delivered.
Keel’s history includes performing with Black Sabbath, KEEL, working with Gene Simmons of KISS fame, and fronting the band Steeler in the ealry eighites which featured Yngwie Malmsteen, and bassist Rik Fox. Fox who was on hand for this evening festivities and played with the band performing “Cold Day in Hell,” from Steeler’s 1983 debut album. The Ron Keel Band also covered Lynyrd Skynyrd’s song “Red, White, Blue.”
A lot of the setlist was new Ron Keel/RKB material to my ears, but hearing “Because the Night”/”Somebody’s Waiting” melody rocked. Keel’s voice is as strong as ever. It’s great to experience live performances again. Ron Keel provided a most excellent way to kick off 2021’s concert experiences.
