Belasco Theater, Los Angeles, CA, April 14, 2022

After two years of rescheduling and postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cell-O Tour finally visited Los Angeles on April 14, 2022. Apocalyptica and Lacuna Coil played to a sold out Belasco Theater for fans that held onto their tickets during this difficult time, in hopes that the show would actually take place. It was a night to remember, as both bands gave phenomenal performances and gave their all on stage.

Italian Gothic Metal band Lacuna Coil is direct tour support on this run, and their Los Angeles fans welcomed them back with open arms. They opened their set with “Blood, Tears, Dust” off of their 2016 album, Delirium. Vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro compliment each other’s voices incredibly well, meshing Scabbia’s clean, feminine singing with Ferro’s screams. The whole band is made up of masterful musicians, and they had the crowd singing along and dancing throughout their entire set. Of course, no Lacuna Coil performance would be complete without one of their biggest hits, “Heaven’s a Lie,” from the 2004 album Comalies, which the old school fans went crazy for. Lacuna Coil is a band you never want to miss when they come to town!

Apocalyptica is a Finnish Symphonic Metal band with a unique twist- they have three cellists! They are touring North America in support of their newest album, Cell-O, which was released in 2020. When they took the stage at the Belasco, each member displayed a masterful knowledge of their instrument and they were an absolute delight to watch. Their music is refreshing and beautiful, and they are animated and charismatic on stage. A lot of Apocalyptica’s music does not have vocals; in the past they have had many famous singers featured on their tracks, but their new lead singer Franky Perez delighted the audience by appearing on stage for the fourth song, “I’m Not Jesus.” Toward the end of their set, the band played one of their biggest hits, “I Don’t Care,” which had the crowd singing along. At the end of the night, the fans were delighted that these metal titans made the long trip from their home country.

The Cell-O tour is going strong across the United States and Canada through May 5th, 2022. This extraordinary tour featuring Lacuna Coil and Apocalytpica is not to be missed!
