Knyght Bet Everything

knyghtBet Everything is the debut EP from Italian band Knyght, one of many bands worldwide that is bringing back the Sunset Strip hard rock sound of the mid 1980’s. Knyght is a young band with what appears to be a ready access to leather jackets, eyeliner and L.A. Guns albums. That’s not a bad thing at all. These young bands who reach back to the Hollywood “hair metal” sound tend to put out the best new rock these days.

Unfortunately, Bet Everything sounds exactly like what it is – a tentative first step from an inexperienced band. The songs are upbeat, melodic, and definitely rock, though the EP’s best track is probably the keyboard-heavy ballad “A Million Times”. There’s a great youthful energy to these five songs, but the flip side of that is that the band’s inexperience shows as well. It’s obvious the band is still learning their craft

Knyght has a good sound, and with time there’s no doubt they’ll get better, but judging the EP on its own merits it doesn’t quite measure up to what bands like Innocent Rosie, Hell n’ Diesel, or Rockets to Ruin have come out with lately.
