The Rob Rock band concert at Progpower IX (USA) 2008 from Atlanta is now available on CD or DVD! The talented “anointed” Rock and his very gifted musicians are in top form on this release and it comes through loud and clear as the mixing in exceptional.
It features an eleven songs set with cuts from all four R.R solo albums including the latest killer release Garden of Chaos.
The themes are the familiar Christian ones of respecting God’s word and the unfortunate fate of anyone that chooses otherwise.
Fantastic melodies, aggressive riffs and wonderfully spirited entertaining guitar solos abound on every single song from the first “Garden of Chaos” to the finale “I’m a Warrior.”
C.J Grimmark (Grimmark, Narnia) and Peter Halgren rip and shred through solo after solo as well as neatly placed small lead pieces. Their clean styles are wonderful and combined with their highly aggressive riffing makes this more than just a worship CD. Their work is so spirited in fact it should give them even more exposure here with the North American guitar heads.
Rock’s voice is at its best on”In the Night “where he hits some killer high notes or on “Judgment Day” where he sets a slower deeper tone, but his vocals are killer throughout. His delivery of serious “touched” words like “Will you be ready for the coming of the Lord?” have never been better.
Rarely is there a better overall metal release that is also this family friendly. Along with Divinefire and Impelitterri, Rob Rock’s band is a dominant force in the metal scene and a great place for kids to get their “message” from.
So get your fat butts up and go purchase a copy of this record or video at your local CD store a.s.a.p.
