Crossfade | We All Bleed

South Carolina quartet Crossfade has returned to the music scene with a vengeance via the release of We all Bleed on one of the top-notch record labels today Eleven Seven Music. Three years in the making, Crossfade latest release speaks volumes regarding the evolution of the band. Although, Crossfade signature writing style evolves around darkness and being alone the mystery still prevails. The haunting lyrics and overall guitar and keyboard playing are simply explosive. One of the greatest aspects of this album is that fans can identify with the subject matter. We are all born alone and die alone and this record delves into the isolation that evolves as you go through the evolution of life itself. Whether it is a new job, loss of a friend, or simply being alone this record covers every aspect of that territory.
Singer Ed Sloan writes very emotional lyrics such as on the first song, “Dead Memories.” In which Ed sings, “I am not holding on to dead memories.” Indeed this is good and illustrates how the band has evolved with the help of new member songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Les Hall.
“Killing Me Inside”, is very hooky and commercial for radio airplay. The band kind of may remind you of Stabbing Westward meets Shinedown meets Sixx A.M.
Other favorites include the melodic keyboard overtones on “Prove Me Wrong.” The song “Dear Cocaine” deals with letting go of addiction with acoustic overtones. “I Think You Should Know” is one of the strongest songs on the album kind of reverts back to Stabbing Westward. This song has in your face lyrics and blistering guitar riffs. “We All Bleed” is universal as we all bleed red right? This songs deals with the fact we are all equal. “Open Up Your Eyes” and “Make Me A Believer” has that SIXX A.M. groove with haunting lyrics, and very nu-metal embellishment.
Actually, the band kind reminds one of a young SIXX A.M. — very innovative and explosive. After one listen, Crossfade has the potential to be breakthrough band of the year. Hot off the heals of performing at Rock On The Range, Crossfade has enlisted onto the Rock Allegiance Tour with Buckcherry this summer. Be sure to check them out. Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Les Hall from Crossfade, as he discusses We All Bleed in-depth.
If you are looking for a band a little over the edge, that has that unique appeal you will enjoy We All Bleed.
