July 26-29, 2012 at Suikerrock Festival, in Tienen, Belgium
Suikerrock is a rock/popfestival in the city of Tienen, in the centre of Belgium. Tienen is best known for it’s sugar refinery, hence the name of the festival (suiker = sugar). The festival has been going strong for 25 years. The main stage is located on the beautiful market square, the Grote Markt. There is an additional stage (Maniacs-stage) with new upcoming bands on a nearby market place (Veemarkt), and in the streets between the two stages there’s a lot of animation. Only for the main stage tickets are required, the other parts of the festival are free. This years festival ran from July 26th through the 29th.
