Often referred to as the Metal Queen, Doro Pesch has reached her legendary status through a combination of innate musical talent and an insatiable work-ethic. The German vocal powerhouse rose to fame in 1984 as the frontwoman of Warlock, but has had greater success since she went solo in 1989.
Doro will be releasing her 17th studio album on November 6th in North America. The record is called Raise Your First and features cameos by Ozzy Osbourne axeman Gus G. as well as the one-and-only Lemmy Kilmister. Pesch also has a tour of North America planned in 2013. HardrockHaven.net had the opportunity to speak with Doro about the recording of Raise Your First, her favorite moment with Ronnie James Dio, Lemmy’s “soulful” vocals, and what fans can expect from her upcoming shows:
