New Jersey thrash pioneers Overkill are currently destroying North America with their German brothers-in-arms Kreator and Californian upstarts Warbringer as part of the Legends of Thrash tour. Never a band to rest on their laurels, Overkill have also all but completed work on the follow-up to 2012’s The Electric Age. The new record is due for release in early March 2014 via eOne Music.
Frontman Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth took a moment to speak with us at Hardrock Haven prior to the band’s show at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, OH on November 5th. In the exclusive interview, Ellsworth talks about why Obamacare would not work for him, the possibility of a new Overkill live CD/DVD, the economics of fine chocolate making, the first time he met Kreator mainman Mille Petrozza, the fan-made video made up of clips of just Blitz laughing, and two new Overkill songs entitled “Pig” and “King of the Rat Bastards”:
