Swedish death metal pioneer Jesper Strömblad, formerly of In Flames, is currently supporting the first full-length album from his new band The Resistance alongside guitarist Glenn Ljungström (ex-In Flames), drummer Chris Barkensjö (ex-Kaamos, ex-Repugnant), and vocalist Marco Aro (ex-The Haunted, Facedown). The debut record entitled Scars comes on the heels of last year’s Rise From Treason EP.
Scars was released on May 14th to critical praise and Strömblad took some time to talk with Hardrock Haven’s own Steve Patrick about how The Resistance is quite different from In Flames, his hopes to tour the album in the future, his struggles with addiction, and how great it is to be playing music again:
