The 27th of January 2015 the Gothenburg based band Destiny released their digital single and video “Living Dead”, the band’s first new release in ten years! The song is the first taste from the band’s upcoming 33rd year anniversary album to be released later this year.

Destiny, one of Swedens longest lasting metal bands was formed in 1982 and has since existed continuously, albeit with varying members. Their latest album “Beyond All Sense 2005” was released ten years ago. The reason that it has taken so long to release something new is mainly due to that it was very difficult to find the right new singer for the band. During the search Destiny began to record music for the upcoming album “Global Warming”. When Destiny has not yet found the right singer in 2011 they decided to record a special album for their upcoming 30: th anniversary in 2012. The idea then was that some of the former Destiny members should guest on different songs. Unfortunately a tragedy hit Stefan Björnshög with personal grief when his fiancée suddenly passed away in early 2012 which meant that everything was postponed. For a period the band’s future was even uncertain. During the fall of 2012 Destiny once again began and it was then that they finally found their new lead singer, Jonas Heidgert , who immediately began to record vocals for both the anniversary album and “Global Warming”.

Destiny currently consists of:
Jonas Heidgert – vocals Jonas has been Destiny’s lead singer since 2012 and has previously released five albums with Dragon Land.
Michael Åberg – Guitar Micke who has been Destiny’s guitarist since 2005 has previously recorded four albums with Nostradameus.
Stefan Björnshög – bass. Stefan is the band leader and writes most of the Destiny’s music and is featured on all Destiny albums and recordings.

Kane Svantesson – drums. Kane returned to Destiny 2013 when he replaced Roger Christiansson, but was in Destiny for the first time in 1994. Kane is the man behind the drums of Destiny’s fourth album “The Undiscovered Country” from 1998.
