Darkadya is the FIRST hardcover book that focuses on those, who stand behind bands imagery. The artists of heavy metal covers and designs of their merchandise and advertising. As a huge THANK YOU for all work they have put into metal, we are now highlighting their faces and their biographies along with some of their best artwork. Some of the names featured in the book you will recognize immediately, and will not know they also are artists themselves, for example Erik Danielson (Watain), Gaahl (Wardruna, Gorgoroth), Venien (Von) , or in the second book Jonathan Hulten (Tribulation), Seth Siro Anton (Septicflesh) and many more musicians. Some famous names sow up in the first book, such as Axel Hermann, Adrien Bousson, Roberto Toderico, Maxime Taccardi, Brian Mercer, Nestor Avalos, and in the second book even more surprises.
Artists spotlights (extended portfolios) are taken by blood painting master and HR Giger protege – Vincent Castiglia (in the first book) and Mark Riddick (in the second book). Darkadya also features artists who work in horror and action film industry, the master artist – Jason Horley, (Star Wars, 300, Dracula Untold and a ton more), or Legacy Effects artists to show their art in the second book as well. Darkadya shows artists who also work on metal stage props, including those who create very controversial taxidermy works. Ester Segarra exhibits her photographic talent in the first book, but also takes a lead in the upcoming special edition of Darkadya : Live Metal, which will showcase 100 World’s Best Metal Scene Photographers and Documentarians with concert photography, bands portraits and behind the scenes.
