Ron Keel Band to Release ‘Fight Like A Band’; KEELFEST 2019 Announcement

EMP LABEL GROUP TO RELEASE NEW RON KEEL BAND ALBUM FIGHT LIKE A BAND; KEELFEST 2019 SET FOR COLUMBUS, OH MAY 10TH

RON KEEL BAND, the new project from legendary Rock vocalist Ron Keel (Keel/Steeler) will release their debut album, FIGHT LIKE A BAND, March 1 on EMP OUTLAW, the Southern Rock imprint of David Ellefson’s EMP LABEL GROUP. Featuring 11 new songs including the title track, and the first single, “Girls Like Me,” plus brand-new versions of “Tears Of Fire” and other Keel classics.
It is available for pre-order now at: http://fightlikeaband.com

Vocalist and bandleader Keel compares the album to “a great action movie – a couple of car chases, some barroom brawls, a couple of love scenes, and a lot of loud music.”

The band has also finished the lyric video for “ROAD READY,” which premieres today on the EMP LABEL GROUP social media network.

Ron Keel Band has also lined up a busy touring year, starting with the official Album Release Party Saturday, February 23rd at Grand Falls Casino (http://grandfallscasinoresort.com) in Larchwood, Iowa – just across the border from the band’s home base of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. RKB will play the new songs live for the first time, performing the FIGHT LIKE A BAND album in its entirety, plus the Keel hits and songs from Ron’s previous EMP release METAL COWBOY: RELOADED.

Another major highlight of 2019 will be KEELFest, May 10th in Columbus, Ohio – a two-and-a-half-hour show paying homage to Keel’s historic catalog, including performances from the classic Keel lineup of Marc Ferrari, Bryan Jay, and Dwain Miller, a full set from the Ron Keel Band (DC Cothern, Geno Arce, The Rev and Dakota Scott) and a special segment paying tribute to legendary Keel-fronted 80’s Hollywood metal band Steeler. Bassist Rik Fox, who played on the historic Steeler album, will join Ron Keel and renowned guitar hero Mitch Perry, who took Yngwie Malmsteen’s place in the band in 1983. Perry, now with glam-rock legends The Sweet, has also toured and recorded with MSG, Cher, Johnny Winter, Lita Ford and many others. Perry also made a guest appearance on Keel’s 1986 album “The Final Frontier” and has been a member of the Steeler/Keel family for 35 years.

KEELFest: Columbus 2019 will take place at the Alrosa Villa and is being promoted by Tong Productions. A special After Party Pass is available, so fans can have the unique opportunity to meet – and get their photo taken – with all three bands at once in the venue after the show’s conclusion. The ticket link is online at http://ronkeel.com.

“It’s a great way to keep the Keel reunion going while promoting the new Ron Keel Band album,” Ron said. “And the Steeler segment is really special because that’s a piece of metal history, and I think the fans will be excited to see Rik, Mitch and I playing those songs on stage again for the first time in 35 years. It’s gonna be a long night, the show is almost three hours…and then one hell of a party when it’s over.”
