Iron Lamb | The Original Sin

With participation in bands such as Repugnant, Dismember General Surgery, Insision, and Bombstrike; Swedish death metal band Iron Lamb’s new LP The Original Sin, sure brings the right amount of punk rock metal and leaving out anything death metal.
Although, The Original Sin does sound a lot like the various EPs released prior to it — everything influenced from the Ramones, Sex Pistols–perhaps, really emphasizing a strong influence in a mix of Hellacopters, Motorhead and Discharge. Tracks like “Rotten Wood”, “Dubious Preacher,” and “Suicide!” give certainly incorporates a sufficient amount of heavy with a definite punk mix. Most tracks like “Our Demise,” “I don’t like you,” and “I don’t wanna be like you,” are pretty straightforward– mid/up-beat songs that are simple on the hard rock side.”Poison” could be best described as a metal song influenced by punk rock.
Musically, the drumming brought on by Thomas Daun, is straightforward d-beating, which is accompanied by a distorted bass by Daniel Ekeroth, and Johan Wallin’s crunchy simple guitar riffs that in most tracks, the technicality and melody of such solos is what keeps the album at some point worth listening to.Vocalist, Grga yells most of the vocals, instead of actually singing them, which defines punk– don’t it?
Bottom line, if the need be of something interesting yet simple, Iron Lamb’s The Original Sin, would do justice.
