Memorial Day in Las Vegas lived up to its high expectations. As thousands of tourists descended upon The Strip music fans gathered at Las Vegas hottest venue Vamp’d to listen to Sin City Sinner and Slash bassist Todd Kerns solo acoustic.
It is hard to believe that a year has already passed since the release of Borrowing Trouble. The concert was recorded live a year ago. To celebrate the One Year Anniversary release, Todd Kerns released the live Borrowing Trouble concert entitled Bootleg Confessional via www.pledgemusic.com/projects/bootlegconfessional.
The Memorial Day concert was a complete success as fans gathered to see the singer perform a rare solo concert before he takes to the stage with Slash in July opening for one of the hottest concerts this Summer Aerosmith.
Opening the night was Sin City Sinner Doc Ellis and singer Cian Coey. The duo delivered a diverse set that ranged from The Stray Cats to Patsy Cline. Cian Coey has a huge vocal range and great stage presence. She recently landed the gig singing with Meatloaf. It was great seeing Doc Ellis burn up the strings on the acoustic. The duo has an amazing chemistry onstage. Doc Ellis and Cian also did a very nice Tribute to the Veterans.
Las Vegas favorite Todd Kerns hit the stage at 9 P.M. opening with “It’s Not You It’s Me.” This song is so catchy and paved the way for an exciting night of music. Todd dug dig into his repertoire from his Canadian music days with Age Of Electric, to current Borrowing Trouble CD.
One of the highlights of the acoustic set was the captivating “Devil In Me.” This song speaks volume of how talented the singer really is. It is so radio friendly. The night prompted many impromtu moments. Todd played the charismatic storyteller weaving his spell on the songs written from the heart. One of the funniest moments of the set occurred was when Todd called on the phone onstage during the set Sin City Sinner Zach Throne to come and perform a few songs with him. It appeared that Zach thought the set was a little bit later. When Zach finally joined the concert onstage, Zach played the phone message live with the fans chanting,” Where’s Zach?” You had to be there for this hilarious moment!
The song that took highlight of the evening came at the end of the set with the last song,” You Can Always Go Home.” This song is so beautiful. Todd commented that he wrote this song about his journey to Las Vegas. He got his inspiration from other people’s stories on how they arrived to live in Las Vegas and call it home. His journey here commenced seven years ago from Canada. As the evening came to close, Todd greeted his many fans.
