GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAHot off the heels of performing on New Years Eve in Vegas with Slash, singer Todd Kerns performed a solo acoustic show at Vamp’d on Feb. 19. The event was in support of Todd’s latest solo CD Borrowing Trouble.

The set was very spontaneous with many special guests including Brent Muscat, Rob Cournoyer, Frank Sidoris and Zachary Throne. Special highlights included a cover set of songs including The Stones,”You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and the heartfelt Cyndi Lauper hit “Time After Time.”

Todd became the great master storyteller. The coffeehouse ambiance really set the tone for his poignant song writing that really touches the hearts of his many fans. One of the highlights of Todd’s set was the song “You Can Always Go Home.”

The night was full of surprises, as Todd paid tribute to his musical hero David Bowie. Along with Conspirator Frank Sidoris , the band performed the beautiful Bowie hit “Changes”, and “Heroes.” It was amazing to see how much Todd’s voice sounded so much like David Bowie. Todd tells Hardrock Haven that, “David was really a massive influence on me.” It was clearly evident on the song “Changes.”

The surprises didn’t end there as Todd took the se list back to his early days performing “Remote Control” and “My True Love.” He mentioned in April he will be heading back to Canada to perform a few shows with his Canadian band Age Of Electric.

It is going to be a whirlwind year for the talented singer, as he is gearing up for release of his latest CD on April 1st under the TKO moniker. This will be a Pledge Music event so stay tuned to Todd Kerns for details. Todd performed a new song from the CD entitled “21st Century Bonnie And Clyde.” This song has radio hit written all over it.

It was great to see the many diversified multi-faceted sides of the singer. As he displayed his Bowie/Johnny Cash influences . Be sure to stay tuned to http://www.toddkerns.com/ for upcoming shows.
