Judas Priest @ Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA 6/28/19
Few bands can say they have been going strong in the music industry for nearly 50 years and still sound great today, but Judas Priest undoubtedly falls into that category. The Firepower tour made a stop at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA on June 28, 2019, and the metal gods proved they are still a force to be reckoned with. Uriah Heep is also nearing their 50th anniversary, and they were an outstanding choice to get the crowd warmed up.
Judas Priest arrived on stage, and the arena exploded into cheers and chants. The musicians took their places on stage, while a silhouette of Rob Halford danced on a backdrop. The opening notes of “Necromancer” rang out, and Halford appeared, dressed in a purple cape and top hat reminiscent of a voodoo witch doctor. The band played through their set with vigor, despite the Ontario stop being the second to last date of the tour. The setlist was packed with Priest hits such as “The Sentinel,” “Starbreaker,” and “Halls of Valhalla.” Of course, no Judas Priest performance would be complete without the fan favorites “Hell Bent for Leather,” “ Breaking the Law,” and “Living After Midnight,” which the band saved for the encore.
